KW did a wonderful job presenting assembly this week! The students all spoke clearly into the microphone and enjoyed their time up on stage. They were fantastic reporters at Broulee Public Zoo too! Take a look at the video below...

We had a wonderful day at Mogo Zoo. Thank you to all the parents who came along to help. We enjoyed observing the animals and checking out their environments. The students enjoyed taking photos and doing some video reports on the animals too! What a stunning day to walk along the shores of our beautiful local beaches! Thank you to all of the parents who joined us. The Kindergarten students did so well walking the full way with their strong legs, we were very proud of their strength and stamina. Ahoy me hearties! We had a fabulous pirate week to start the term. Take a look at some of the things we got up to... As part of our Science Unit, Kindergarten students have been looking at seed growth and seed dispersal. We recapped some of the many different ways that seeds can be dispersed (by wind, water, animals, birds, people) then came up with our own ideas for a device that could spread seeds. The students came up with some awesome inventions and tested them with rice outside. Gabriel's invention used a catapult function to disperse his seeds and we were fortunate to have Dr Katie Moon on hand to let us know that there is a plant in real life that does this - the Cardamine parviflora - how very cool! This week our criteria were to represent our understanding of above and below ground. The results demonstrated some very creative thinking to meet the criteria.
As part of our celebrations of 'Fruit and Vegtember' Kindergarten students visited Woolworths' Supermarket in Moruya for a 'Fresh Food' tour. We toured the store and found out how they divide food into categories to make shopping easier for their customers. We checked out the different temperatures in the storage rooms. Some were 6 degrees and others were minus 26 degrees! We played games finding foods that grow above ground, under ground, on trees, on bushes and on vines. We were really good at this game because we have been learning about this in Science. We also made a food rainbow using different fruit and vegetables. We had a good look at the scales they use for weighing fruit and vegetables and the digital scales they use in the 'Deli' because we have been investigating mass during our measurement lessons. Have a look at the slide show below to see all the fun we had. Thanks Woolies! Miss Gill After our visit to Woolworths we walked to Riverside Park in Moruya for our lunch and a play on the play equipment. While we were eating our lunch we looked at all the living things that are growing and living along the banks of the river.
